Dr. Arun Menawat, Chairman of the Board

Dr. Arun Menawat is the CEO of Profound Medical Inc., a medical technology company that is developing a real-time MRI-guided thermal ultrasound system for incision-free ablation of abnormal or cancerous tissue. Prior to joining Profound, Arun served as the President and CEO of Novadaq Technologies Inc. for 13 years, guiding the company from a start-up to one of the fastest-growing, NASDAQ listed medical technology companies in North America, with a market cap of over $1 Billion USD.  Arun also serves as a member of the board of directors of Stereotaxis and Spartan. He obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and an Executive MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. In 2014, he was named the EY Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year in the health sciences category.

Jon Olsen, Chief Executive Officer

Jon Olsen is a global medical technology executive who thrives in an environment where people are united by a common purpose. He is recognized for his strong strategic business acumen and for fostering an entrepreneurial approach to developing and implementing successful business development strategies in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. He is passionate about improving the lives of patients and is committed to expediting and driving results by cultivating meaningful relationships and effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. Jon is a leader who thrives within complex business environments, and he drives strategy through broad-based transformational initiatives. He has spent his working life promoting an organizational culture where his leadership teams are not content with the status quo, view challenges as opportunities, and execute strategies with accountability and purpose.

Ronen Gadot

Ronen joined the elminda founders as the first investor and a board member, recognizing the vision that brain mapping can make a significant difference for the diagnosis and treatment of brain related disorders.  Ronen is an entrepreneurial leader, founded 5 companies in the neuro-tech space and was selected by the World Economic Forum to serve on the Global council for the future of neuro-technologies and brain sciences. Ronen serves on the boards of several innovative companies and is a member of Israel’s Innovation Authority investment committee.  Early in his career, Ronen held executive positions at International companies, including Silicon Valley Fortune 500 Applied Materials as well as Philips Electronics, for which Ronen co-founded Philips’ Global Corporate Venture arm, making Philips one of the pioneers in Digital Health and managing one of Philips portfolio companies in Germany. Prior to Ronen’s business career, he served as an F-16 fighter pilot and flew on the IAF Aerobatic Team.  Ronen holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.

Adam Slater

Adam Slater has been involved in China and Asia pacific for over 35 years having traveled extensively in the region, studying in China and working in China and Singapore.  He started his career in facilitating the clearing of the old barter trade debt of the Hungary to China and represented the Republic of China in their negotiations with their Chinese counterparts in 1991-1992.  After having made use of commodities to clear the old trade debt, he became involved metal trading until 1997. He remained predominately involved in commodity related industries in the until the end of 2018. Adam Slater joined CWT as CEO, Commodity Logistics in October 2006 and was tasked to develop the commodity business for CWT Group while continuing to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the commodity logistics related businesses across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North & South America and Oceania. After spearheading the development CWT’s Financial Services, Trading and Supply Chain Management businesses by creating Westford Trade Services, Straits Financial, and acquiring of MRI Trading he was promoted to Deputy Group CEO in July 2012.  A year after the acquisition of CWT by HNA, he left CWT at the end of 2018 and established, Clearedge Financial Pte Ltd, an investment holding company here in Singapore. After a 25 year career in commodity related industries, Adam is now focused on investing in promising tech startups. He is also a General Partner in OurCrowd, Israel’s most active venture investor in 2018 and 2019 as well as an LP of Genesis Alternative Ventures I LP, one of the leading venture debt funds in South East Asia. Adam graduated from McGill University’s in East Asian Studies and also studied Chinese language at Fudan University.

Gert Hoogland

Gert Hoogland is a medical professional with a proven record for building strong, growth-oriented pharma and healthcare businesses. His over 30 years of experience span the research, marketing, entrepreneurial, and operational aspects of these sectors. Gert has held several roles in the pharmaceutical sector, including; CEO of Schering, New Zealand, and South Africa, founder of two businesses in South Africa, which represented international pharma brands in the country. Gert is currently the Chief Executive Officer at HealthCrest AG, a Switzerland-based investment and consulting company. He graduated as a Doctor from Amsterdam University and studied law at Erasmus University, Holland. Gert holds an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Fred Cohen

Extensive sales & marketing career with successful, creative, out of the box thinking and leadership through team building. Experience includes NHL, MISL and Auto racing. Fred also served as the Chairman of Maccabbi US Sports Team.
